The Fredericktown Community Fire District has a long and successful history of fire safety education. We value this education as a key part of our successful prevention program and are committed to ensuing this is an active section of our department.

The Fredericktown Community Fire District conducts inspections in accordance with the Ohio Fire Code and Ohio Revised Code and other recognized guidelines. We have three Certified Fire Safety Inspectors (CFSI) within our department that are certified in the State of Ohio. We only conduct inspections upon request or where specifically required by law such as for new construction. We also do Foster Home inspections.
Our district inspects businesses and areas where required per the laws applicable within the State of Ohio. We charge no fee as a part of the inspection process. Inspections are an integral part of a successful fire prevention program, something that the FCFD strives to achieve at every opportunity possible.
“Fire safety inspector” means an individual certified by the chief executive officer of the State Board of Emergency Medical, Fire and Transportation Services pursuant to section 4765.55 of the Revised Code and Chapter 4765-20 of the Administrative Code to perform fire safety inspector duties as set forth in Chapter 3737 of the Revised Code.
Certification is required by section 3737.34 of the Ohio Revised Code. Furthermore, all inspectors and other fire service personnel must maintain their certification through continuing education.
Every 36 months, inspectors must complete a total of 24 CEU hours, with acceptable topics listed below.
Our inspectors maintain their certification through in-house training, courses offered through the State of Ohio, and online curriculum courses recognized by the State Fire Marshal and the Ohio Department of Public Safety.
